Trail Construction Machine Recovered
Oregon State Police (OSP), with the
help of an anonymous tip reported to the Crime
Stoppers program, recovered a trail construction
machine and trailer stolen in late November from
L.L. “Stub” Stewart State Park in northwest
Washington County.
According to OSP, on Decembeer 30,
2011 OSP troopers went to a Forest Grove-area
property following up on an anonymous tip that
equipment similar to the stolen “Northwest Trail
Alliance” trail construction machine and trailer
was at the property. Detectives and troopers
contacted the property owner and received his
consent to search the area, subsequently finding
the trail construction machine concealed in a
heavily forested area. The stolen trailer was also
found and recovered.
The trailer and trail construction machine
were stolen late November after forced entry was
made into an enclosed maintenance compound at
L. L. “Stub” Stewart State Park. Inside the trailer
were various tools, accessories and a ST240 trail
construction machine valued at $80,000.
