OLIVE JOSEPHINE CHELBY
 
Olive  Josephine  Chelby  was 
born on September 9, 2011 at the Andaluz 
Waterbirth  Center  in  Portland  Oregon.  
Olive  weighed  7lbs    and  measured  20 
inches long.  Her mother is Emily Stebly 
and her father is Jerid Chelby.  Welcome 
Olive!

Jacquelyn K. “Jackie” Evey, 62, 
a longtime resident of the Buxton com-
munity,  passed  away  Sunday  morning, 
December 25, 2011, surrounded by fam-
ily and friends at her home.
 
Private  Interment  will  be  held 
at  the  Willamette  National  Cemetery, 
11800 S.E. Mt. Scott Blvd. in Portland, 
Oregon.
 
JACQUELYN KAY EVEY was 
born  August  3,  1949  in  Fergus  Falls, 
Minnesota, the daughter of the late Clif-
ford  Lindrud  and  Ruth  (Whipple)  Lin-
drud.  The  family  lived  in  Kanas  for  a 
short  period  before  moving  to  Oregon, 
settling  in  the  Gresham  community, 
where  she  graduated  from  Centennial 
High  School,  Class  of  1967.  Upon  her 
high  school  graduation  Jackie  earned  a 
diploma from Western Business Univer-
sity in 1972 and attended Portland Com-
munity College.
 
She  was  united  in  marriage  to 
Widney W. “Pig” Evey on April 14, 1973 
in  Manning,  Oregon.  They  celebrated 
their  38th  Wedding  Anniversary  this 
past April. Following their marriage they 
made their home in the Buxton commu-
nity, where they have resided since.
 
Jackie  devoted  the  first  several 
years  of  her  children’s  lives  to  raising

her  family.    As  the  children  grew  old-
er,  Jackie  had  a  career  as  the  Manager 
of  Consumer  Services  for  Nike,  Inc.  in 
Beaverton for eleven years.
 
Among her special interests she 
enjoyed  making  jewelry,  stamping  and 
bird watching. Jackie also had a special 
love  for  her  family  life  and  spending 
time with her grandchildren.
 
She  was  preceded  in  death  by 
her parents, Clifford and Ruth Lindrud.
 
Survivors  include  her  husband, 
Widney  W.  “Pig”  Evey,  of  the  family 
home  in  Buxton,  Oregon;  her  son  and 
daughter-in-law,  Josh  and  Aryne  Evey, 
of Gladstone, Oregon; her daughter and 
son-in-law,  Betsy  and  Gerardo  Zavala, 
of Forest Grove, Oregon; her two sisters 
and  a  brother-in-law,  Jeanette  Hagen, 
of Mt. Vernon, Washington; and Joanne 
and  Martin Yost,  of  Sun  City, Arizona; 
her  two  sisters-in-law  and  a  spouse,  
Charlotte  Zigler  and  Grace  and  David 
Knowlton;  and  her  five  brothers-in-law 
and spouses, Gail and Annie Evey; Larry 
and Sylvia Evey; Ed Evey; Lonnie Evey; 
and Dan and Julie Evey.
 
Also  surviving  are  her  three 
grandchildren, Jacquelyn Guadalupe Za-
vala;  Clifford  Jose  Zavala  and  William 
Gerardo  Zavala;  and  many  nieces  and 
nephews.
 
The  family  suggests  that  re-
membrances  may  be  contributions  to 
American  Association  for  Cancer  Re-

DAVID R. MCCOY
 
David  was  born  in  St.  Helens, 
Oregon on May 14, 1957 and passed on 
to be with our Lord on January 1, 2012. 
 
David  went  to  school  in  his 
elementary  years  in  Vernonia,  Oregon 
and  Castle  Rock,  Washington.  Later  in 
his  teen  years  he  lived  in  Montana.  He 
moved  back  to  Oregon  after  spending 
four  years  in  the  United  States  Marine 
Corps  where  he  served  as  a  radio 
operator. In  1991,  He  was  employed 
at  BIAMP  Systems  as  a  mechanical 
engineer who loved to design and create 
new products. 
 
His  hobbies  included  fishing, 
rock hounding, classic cars and traveling 
the state. David was a loving and devoted 
husband who loved life. 
 
David  is  survived  by  his  wife, 
Sue  Ann  McCoy,  of  Forest  Grove,  his 
mother,  Rosie  McCoy  of  Vernonia, 
Oregon, and his father, David A. McCoy 
of  Montana.  Also  surviving  are  his 
brother, Pat and wife Sharon McCoy of 
Kalispell,  Montana,  his  sister  Margaret 
Gilbertson  and  her  husband,  Ron  of 
Miles  City  Montana,  his  aunt,  Penny 
Dean  of  Vernonia,  Oregon,  aunt  Peggy 
Helvie  and  family  of  Albequerque, 
New Mexico, his cousins, Tina and Jeff 
Brewington and family of Vernonia and 
Richard and Kathy Myers of Vernonia.
