you walk inside Chuck’s store, but my description just Chuck, The Old Coot—the Mayor of Cooterville, and
wouldn’t do it justice—you’ll just have to see it for see what he has for sale. And maybe make an offer on
yourself.

Recently Chuck was explaining about a trip
he makes every year at Christmas time to the Cooterville City Hall is located at 46740 NW Sunset
Spokane area that I thought was worth sharing. Highway in Manning, OR. You can’t miss it!
About eight years ago Chuck, who was adopted
as a young boy, was able to locate his birth moth-
er living near Spokane. Chuck
started going up to visit each
year and ended up taking some
of the items he had collected
each year that he didn’t think he
could sell. Each year he deliv-
ers these items, like stuffed ani-
mals and dolls, to group homes
for between 200 and 300 men-
tally handicapped adults. “The
people there don’t get much for
the holidays and so the things I
bring for them really helps make
it special,” he explains. Chuck
will load thousands of dollars’
worth of merchandise and give
it away during the week before
Christmas—he told me his ar-
ing storage units and traveling to auctions and flea mar- rival each year is greeted like the ar-
kets. Whether you consider Chuck’s wares antiques, rival of a real life Santa Clause by the
collectibles or just stuff, it’s worth stopping by to see people he goes to visit.

So next time you’re traveling
You never know what or who you will find at Cooterville City Hall.

I could try to explain what you might find if down Highway 26, stop by and see
man’s treasure,” says Chuck. Well then, the place is
filled, inside and out, with treasures just waiting to be
discovered.

Wheel Alignments

Vernonia Service and Repair, a
growing automotive repair shop, has added
a new service—wheel alignments.

Aaron Milstien, owner of Vernonia
Service and Repair, recently installed a
new lift and has purchased laser sensors that
allow him to perform four wheel alignments,
making his the only automotive repair shop
that offers alignment services in Vernonia.

With the new equipment
Vernonia Service and Repair can check
your alignment and perform any needed
adjustments, including a thrust alignment
or four wheel alignment. According to
Milstien all automobiles with independent
rear wheel suspension need a four wheel
alignment.

Checking the wheel alignment
on your vehicle is recommended for several
reasons. You get better gas mileage when
your wheels are aligned properly. It saves on
the wear on your tires so they don’t need to be
replaced as often. Proper alignment causes less
wear on other auto parts. And your car is easier
to drive when properly aligned.

Vernonia Service and Repair is located
just south of Vernonia next to Storage Too.
Milstien opened his shop just one year ago and
recently expanded, adding additional bays. He
will also be adding a waiting area for customers
that will include a television and wifi. He
continues to provide most automotive repair
services including brakes, oil changes, tune-
ups and other maintenance and repairs as well
as repairs on other types of vehicles.

Vernonia Service and Repair is located
at 58605 Nehalem Highway S. To schedule an
appointment call 503-706-9409.
