Pioneer Museum Hosts Antique
Engine Show
Vernonia Pioneer Museum will be open
extended hours on Saturday, September 17, from
10:00 AM to 4 PM in conjunction with an antique
engine show on the front lawn during those hours.
The engine show is hosted by members of Branch
15 Early Day Gas Engine & Tractor Association.
On display will be several gasoline-
powered engines from the early 1900s that
provided power to farm equipment, water
pumps, and machine shops before rural
electrification. There will also be at least one
operating drag saw (used to cut logs into shorter
lengths that could be split for firewood). Last
year’s show drew over two hundred people who
enjoyed watching these antiques in action

Thompson. We would not be here
without the generous support of our
neighbors. This is a great example of
people giving what they can to make
a real difference for families. We are
humbled by the support we receive to
ensure that we are here serving families
for many years to come.
The CCWRC was also the
grateful recipient of over $2,100 raised
by the Wigwam Tavern’s annual August
Poker Run. The Wigwam Tavern in
Scappoose generously supports the
CCWRC’s programs and services. The
tavern owners are rounding up their
donation to $2,500. This annual event is
very popular and by supporting a local
nonprofit, the Wigwam shows amazing
compassion for our neighbors. Thank
you to all involved!
The 22-bed shelter serving
Columbia County is so much more than
temporary housing. CCWRC provides
wrap around services to women and
children. Supports and programs
include connections to medical and
mental health care, legal assistance,
counseling, support groups, education,
risk assessment and safety planning.
CCWRC is the only agency of
its kind dedicated to serving victims
and survivors of family violence and
sexual assault in our community. For

lives by volunteering or donating to the
