Congratulations
Fox  University  and  will  graduate  next 
May with a Bachelor of Science degree 
in  Elementary  Education.    Caleb  is 
Murray-Snoberger
studying at Washington State University 
and  will  graduate  this  December  with 
a  Bachelor  of  Science  degree  in  Civil 
Engineering. 
 
The  wedding  is  set  for  next 
summer  and  the  couple  have  not  yet 
decided where they will reside.   “ W e 
are very excited to welcome Caleb into 
the  family!”  says  John  and  Kellie.  “  It 
is  a  true  blessing  to  us  that  Caleb  and 
Brittany  have  such  a  Christ-centered 
relationship  and  we  look  forward  to 
witnessing  God’s  blessing  on  this

In Memory of...
loggers  in  the  Vernonia  area.    He  later 
did logging on his own and had a small 
sawmill.
 
Bill  loved  to  hunt  and  fish  and 
new  experiences.    He  was  a  gentle, 
loving, man.  He will be greatly missed.
 
Bill is survived by his wife Sue 
and  their  children:  Bill,  Stuart,  Jane, 
Rich, Reesa and Tim; ten grandchildren 
and his cousin Nancy.
 
A celebration of life was held a 
the farm on Edens Road on September 5, 
2011.
 
Donations  may  be  made  to  the 
Parkinson Foundation in his name.
Lisa L. Andrus Rau-VanOsdol
 
Lisa  L.  Andrus  Rau-VanOsdol, 
51,  a  former  resident  of  Vernonia, 
Scappoose, and late of Wilsonville, died 
Aug. 02, 2011 in her Wilsonville home 
from  lung  cancer  with  family  and  her 
dog Boo by her side. Services were held 
Saturday,  Aug.  27,  2011,  at  11:00  at 
Grace Lutheran Church, Scappoose.
 
Lisa  L.  Andrus  Rau-VanOsdol 
was  born  October  8,1959  in  Southgate, 
California to William “Bill” and Sharon 
Andrus.  At  the  age  of  five  her  family 
relocated  to  Vernonia,  OR.,  where  her 
father  William  “Bill”  Andrus  operated 
his  own  logging  company  for  many 
years.  She  grew  up  in  Vernonia  and 
attended  Lincoln  and  Washington 
Elementary Schools and graduated from 
Vernonia High School in 1977. 
 
Growing up Lisa enjoyed riding 
and  taking  care  of  the  horses  on  her 
parents farm.

She was united in marriage to Dave Rau 
in 1978, married for thirteen years; they 
later  divorced.  She  was  a  stay  at  home 
mom  and  while  living  in  the  Vernonia 
community she ran an in home day care 
for many years.
 
Lisa  was  a  devoted  mother, 
prayed  a  lot,  loved  to  cook,  was  an 
excellent  housekeeper,  had  the  gift  of 
gab, liked spicy food, fast cars, music she 
could sing along to and sparkly clothes. 
She enjoyed sewing blankets and quilts 
and making crafts at Christmas--turning 
her  house  into  a  winter  wonderland 
for  all  to  enjoy.  She  loved  spending 
evenings playing board games with her 
children, was a total prankster and loved 
to  play  tricks  and  make  people  laugh, 
even  though  it  was  always  funniest  to 
her! Her love for life, dedication, artistic 
talent  and  strong  characteristics  will 
absolutely live on through her children.
 
She  re-married  to  Mark 
VanOsdol and lived in Scappoose; they 
later  divorced.  She  worked  at  Wal-
Mart  in  St  Helens  for  several  years,  as 
overnight freight, then as a checker. She 
took  great  pride  in  her  work  no  mater 
what  the  task  and  was  very  much  a 
people person.
 
Survivors  include  her  five 
children,  Grant,  of  St  Helens; Trent,  of 
Wilsonville;  Bryce,  of  Austin,  Texas; 
Whitney  of  Elk  Grove,  California;  and 
Teryn  of  Illinois;  and  granddaughter, 
Hayden Rau of St Helens.
 
Also  surviving  are  her  sisters 
Mrs. Rena Wilt Of Beaverton and Dana 
Andrus of Portland and two nephews.
