(Above) The Birkenfeld Blues Revue was held the Satur-
day of Labor Day weekend. A huge slate of performers
kicked off what will hopefully become an annual event.
Attendees enjoyed an excellent variety of music, beautiful
weather, good food, a beer garden, and great atmosphere.
St Mary's Quilt Sale-This was the 39th Annual Quilt Sale at St.
Mary's Catholic Church. The main attraction, of course, were
the many beautiful quilts on display and for sale. But there was
also the craft baazar, as well as delicious lunch available—home-
made soups, pies, cake and those sticky buns! The St. Mary's
Quilt Sale is a Vernonia tradition not to be missed.
(Left) The Nehalem Valley Ridge Riders held a team pen-
ning competition at the Anderson Park arena. Teams and
individuals were timed as they competed to cut out select
calves and drive them into the pen area. A large group
turned out to participate in another well organized Ridge
Rider event.
