Titus of Vernonia are pleased to announced the marriage the daughter Trisha Dorena Titus to Mr. Floyd Casey Sheets. Mr. Sheets is the son of Floyd K. Sheets and Anne E. Sheets. Trisha Titus is a 2003 Graduate of Vernonia High School, in Vernonia, Oregon and a 2007 Graduate of Northwest College of Hair Design in Clackamas, Oregon. Trisha is currently a hair stylist in Nebraska. Casey Sheets is a 2004 Graduate of Tekamah-Herman High School in Tekamah, Nebraska. Casey is currently employed as a welder/fabricator in Nebraska. The couple was married at 2:00 pm on Saturday July 25,2009, at Oceanside Beach, Oceanside, Oregon.. Maid of Honor was Bridget Titus - sister of bride; Best Man was Jesse Sheets - brother of groom. The reception was held at a private home near Tillamook, Oregon. The couple plan to live and work in and near Tekamah, Nebraska. september 23 In Memory Of... ELIZABETH L. “BETTY LOU” HOLSEY Elizabeth L. “Betty Lou” Holsey, 70, a lifelong native of the Vernonia community, died Friday evening, August 14, 2009 at the Provi- dence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland. A Graveside Service was held on Thursday, August 20, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the Vernonia Memo- rial Cemetery, 2080 Bridge Street in Vernonia, Oregon, with Pastor Grant Williams, of the Vernonia Community Church, officiating. Concluding Rites and Internment followed at the cemetery. Family and friends attended a reception immediately following the cemetery rites, held at the Scout cabin in Vernonia. ELIZABETH LUCILLE “BETTY LOU” HOLSEY was born July 14, 1939 in Fox Home, North Dakota, the daughter of the late Alois Sauer and Marie (Mullin) Sauer. At the age of two months old she moved with her family to Oregon, settling in the Vernonia commu- nity, where she was raised and received her education, having been a graduate of Vernonia High School Class of 1957. She was united in marriage to Donald R. Holsey on August 28, 1964 in Castle Rock, Washington. Fol- lowing their marriage they made their home in the Ver- nonia community, where they have resided since. They would have celebrated their forty-fifth Wedding Anni- versary later this month. Betty Lou was a homemaker. She was a long- time member of the Pinochle Card Club in Vernonia. Among her special interests she enjoyed her family, photography, and was an avid Portland Trail Blazers fan, oil and water painting, especially flowers, barns and sea- scapes. Survivors include her hus- band, Donald R. “Don” Holsey, of the family home in Vernonia, Oregon; her four sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth “Vince” Parker, of Flint, Michigan; Jeffrey J. “Jeff” and Janet Parker, of Vernonia, Oregon; Gregg Parker, of Vernonia, Oregon; and Brian D. and Laurie Holsey, of Cornelius, Oregon; and her sister and brother- in-law, Kathleen M. and Richard “Dick” Gwin, of Ver- nonia, Oregon.
