Rock Creek Bed and Breakfast:
Home Away From Home, Only Better... in Vernonia
By Scott Laird
When Patti Davis welcomes you
into the Rock Creek Bed and Break-
fast, it feels like you have entered
your own small apartment- which, in
a sense, you have. Only, the Rock
Creek Bed and Breakfast is decorat-
ed with great taste and style, with ex-
tra details everywhere you look, and
special amenities most of us prob-
ably would not take time for in our
own living space.
“We wanted to have all the spe-
cial touches, and try to give our guests
what they need,” said Davis during
a recent tour of the newest B&B in
Vernonia. And Patti and her husband
Gary have done just that, providing all the comforts of home-
and then some. The Davis’s have created a space for guests
that is part warmth and welcome, is homey and comfortable,
but also makes you feel luxurious and pampered. “We want
people to feel comfortable, but also give them special things
they would not have at home. We want them to come here
and feel refreshed.”
The Davis’s have turned the downstairs of their two-
story mill house, on State Street in Vernonia, into a private
oasis, with bedroom, living room area and dining area, all
closed off from the rest of “Special touches can mean so much. And sometimes peo-
