from the editor....
While Vernonia continues to wrestle through change - budget decisions, new schools
for our children, new city administrator (welcome James Johnson!), some things remain
constant; I’m referring how we as a community continue to benefit from our volunteers.
This note is a thank all who came out and served for “Make Vernonia Shine Day,” and
those who continue to bless us with fun events such as First Friday and the Open Air
Market (you won’t want to miss this month’s – it’s going to be BIG!). This month
there’s an added bonus with KUPL’s Fishing Derby and Cruisin’ Concert. Again Ver-
nonia volunteers working alongside KUPL to bring this event to town year-after-year.

Here's how it works…
Qualifying for 5.01% APY on balances up to $25,000 is so easy,
many people already do. The list of free monthly† requirements is
short:
Active enrollment in e-Statements.
Login to Online Banking at least once a month.
Make one electronic deposit or withdrawal (ACH) monthly
(includes direct deposit).
Make at least 12 cleared debit card transactions monthly.
All members will receive 5.01% APY on balances up to $25,000
the very first month they sign up regardless of whether or not they
meet the requirements. After the first month, members who do
not meet the requirements will receive .10% APY on their
balances for that month. You always have a chance to start over
and meet the requirements the very next month, and you never
pay a maintenance fee no matter what happens.
