VERNONIA’S
a letter from the editor....
Publisher and Managing Editor
Evangeline Doyle and Scott Laird
Happy Holidays!
Many fun events dot December’s calendar in Vernonia,
beginning with a Spirited Old Fashioned Christmas De-
cember 1. The lighted parade begins at 5 p.m. with the
community Christmas tree lighting at 5:30 p.m.
Be
sure to check out the events calendar in this issue for
all Vernonia has to offer this holiday season.
Over the past few months there’s been a noticeable
spike in community involvement, from participation in
the annual Halloween parade, to a great turnout for the
sock hop at the Grange Hall; all of which contributes to
a feeling of engagement in the community.
This month we featured an article about supporting
your local merchants, a great idea especially during
the holiday shopping season. Be sure to also take
advantage of the Holiday Bucks program offered by
select Vernonia merchants.
This is also a time of year where charitable donations
are needed. We encourage all who can to give gener-
ously to Vernonia Cares and the Toy and Joy drive to
do so.
From the editors, contributors
and volunteer staff at Vernonia’s Voice,
we wish you a happy and safe holiday season!
