Cowlitz Tribe donates $10,000
to Korean War Memorial
The Cowlitz Indian Tribe do-
nated $10,000 to help build
the Korean War Wall of Re-
membrance in Washington,
D.C. Ed Barnes, a retired busi-
ness manager of IBEW Local
48, has been raising funds for
the wall ever since a bill was
passed by Congress in Octo-
ber 2016 and signed by Presi-
dent Barack Obama. Barnes, a
Korean War veteran, wants
the wall to remember the
36,574 men and women who
lost their lives fighting for the
people of South Korea and
the rest of the world. The

to be built with private dona-
tions. Barnes has been raising money ever since.
With the Cowlitz donation, Barnes has raised nearly $64,000. His
story was featured in the Korean War Veterans magazine. Nation-
wide, about $5 million of the needed $15 million has been raised.
