Presents From Partners’ Toy Challenge The results are in! It was a close race, with five unions competing for bragging rights in the annual Presents from Partners Toy Challenge, sponsored by Labor’s Commu- nity Service Agency. The compe- tition pitted union locals to see which one could bring in the most 32 to 45 gallon bags full of toys . Without further ado... First place went to IBEW Local 48! Coming in close behind were Southwest Washington Central Labor Council; Oregon Federa- tion of Nurses and Healthcare Professionals Local 5017-Ameri- can Federation of Teachers; United Association Local 290 and their Sisters In Solidarity; and Iron Workers Local 29. “All unions participating have given so much time and re- sources to make sure all our union families are able to pro- vide toys this holiday season,” said LCSA Executive Director Eryn Byram. “Thank you all for your generosity and giving. You define solidarity.” Of course, the real winners were all the kids who got gifts at the Presents From Partners holiday party held Dec. 15 in Portland.
