Iron Workers Local 29 members’ families have breakfast with Santa
Iron Workers Local 29, their Joint Apprenticeship Training
Committee, and Ironworkers USA Credit Union held their
33rd annual Breakfast with Santa party Dec. 9 at the Monarch
Hotel in Happy Valley. Initially hosted during the difficult eco-
nomic times of 1985, the special event was created to help
make the holiday season a little brighter for ironworkers’ fam-
ilies. Since that first year it has become a popular and eagerly-
awaited holiday event. A record 500 Iron Workers union fam-
ily members — including more than 200 children and
grandchildren — enjoyed a holiday breakfast with hot choco-
late and marshmallows, followed by a visit from Santa Claus.
Children 10 and under each received a wrapped present.
