But actors themselves have their own annual event, or- ganized by their union SAG-AF- TRA, giving out 13 awards for outstanding performances in film and television. Presented live in a two-hour televised ceremony, the awards honor both individual performances and the team work of entire casts. Winners are deter- mined by fellow SAG-AFTRA members — more than 160,000 actors, broadcast journalists, stunt performers, voiceover artists and other professionals. This year’s ceremony, on Jan. 21, will be hosted by Kristen Bell, with awards presented by Halle Berry, Dakota Fanning, Lupita Nyong’o, Emma Stone and Kelly Marie Tran.
