SAG gets ‘Award of
Excellence’ star on
Hollywood Blvd.
HOLLYWOOD — The Screen Ac-
tors Guild (SAG) was honored with an
Award of Excellence star on Holly-
wood Boulevard — making it the first
union ever to receive this honor.
The ceremony, which took place
Oct. 25 in front of the historic Holly-
wood Roosevelt Hotel, served as the of-
ficial kick-off event for SAG’s year-
long 75th anniversary celebration.
The star is located at 7018 Holly-
wood Boulevard, Hollywood, Calif.
Analysts choose
union in first-ever
vote at GAO
WASHINGTON, D.C. — By a
nearly 2-to-1 majority, analysts at the
U.S. Government Accountability Office
(GAO) capped off an18-month organiz-
ing drive by voting to join the Interna-
tional Federation of Professional and
Technical Engineers, AFL-CIO.
