health care workers
prevent back injuries
The second annual Health Care Er-
gonomics Conference will be held
Monday through Thursday, June 26-
29, at the Oregon Convention Center
in Portland,
Participants will learn and share in-
formation about best practices in deal-
ing with employee and patient safety
issues. Keynote speakers will be Au-
drey Nelson, director of the VA Patient
Center of Inquiry, and Bill Marras, di-
rector of biodynamics laboratory at
Ohio State University.
An exhibitors event will feature a
variety of ergonomics-related needs in
health care, from computer worksta-
tions and devices to housekeeping and
material handling equipment.
The conference is presented in co-
operation with the Oregon Occupa-
tional Safety and Health Administra-
tion and the Oregon Coalition for
Health Care Ergonomics and the Ore-
gon Nurses Foundation.
