M egan Kays, junior, (party guest) undergoes a character
transform ation for the ballroom scene. Participants,
including parents, spent hours collaborating to create
costum es and sets as w ell as doing many other job s such
as publicity.

production in the new theatre—the Rodgers and
Hammerstein family classic, "Sound of Music.

A lyssa Johnston, senior (Baroness Schrader), and M ichael Johnson,
j unior (Captain von Trapp), greet a late arriving guest. Their characters
were engaged but von Trapp's loyalty to A ustria and his grow ing
love for M aria doom ed the relationship.
Emma D avis, junior, (Maria) teaches Connor Egan, (Kurt) how to
ballroom dance. Social Stu dies teacher, Todd Jones' daughter Katie,
fifth, also appeared in the cast as M arta von Trapp.
Sam Anderson, senior (Max Detw eiller), invites the von Trapp children M aia M cNam ara, third (Gretel),
Anna Stapleton, junior (Liesel), N ell Egan, fifth (Brigitta), and Christine Biancardi, sophom ore (Louisa),
to sin g at a m usic festival. This is the last time the Von Trapps sin g in public before fleeing Austria
and the N azi regime.
