Reptiles on aircraft—what more could you ask?

This summer, the theaters
were chock full of hilarious
comedies, thrilling action and
tear-jerking dramas. No matter
what kind of movie you were
looking for, you probably
found it over the summer and
though there were dozens
of releases, only a select few
were truly worth the price of
admission.
it aside, thinking that it is
too infantile. Higher rating
doesn't always mean a better
movie (though "Snakes on

If you can't guess
the plot of this movie by the
title alone then I suggest you
read it again because that's
all the description you're
going to get; "Snakes on a
Plane!" Starring Samuel L.
Jackson, this is a serious
action movie that's really not
meant to be taken seriously.
The premise of the movie
alone is ridiculous, then add
a lot of gratuitous violence,
sex and language and in
the end you have one of
the best movies to grace the
silver screen, ever! Jackson's
over-the-top performance is
nothing less than amazing,
so when he starts to tangle
with hundreds of poisonous
snakes, look out. When he
delivers the line, "I'm sick
of these mother *#$&@!%
snakes on this mother
@#$%A&* plane!" you can't
help but laugh in sheer
satisfaction. The fact that the
filmmakers actually went
back to refilm parts of the
movie as to bump its rating
up to R, is just proof of how
much ass this movie kicks.
This movie is the purest,
most unadulterated, edge-of-
your-seat, heart-pounding,
laugh out loud, action thriller
you will ever see; so next
chance you get, go and see it.
End of story.
NACHO LIBRE
Just because a movie
is rated PG, that doesn't
mean you should just cast
Libre" proved that wrong
this summer.
Don't expect any clever
witticisms though, because
Jack Black doesn't roll like
that. The best phrase that
describes the type of humor
in this movie is, fart jokes.
If you can find a laugh in an
overweight man wrestling
two demonic midgets, then
"Nacho Libre" is for you! The
zany plot revolves around
Black's character, Nacho,
who is the cook/monk at a
Christian orphanage. One
day, Nacho stumbles into
the world of the Luchador
(Mexican masked wrestling)
and uses the money he wins
from matches to buy better
food for the orphans. In the
end, Nacho must find the
power of the eagle within
himself to defeat his ultimate
opponent and win the
admiration of an estranged
nun. "Nacho Libre" is
slapstick comedy at its
finest, with physical humor
up the wazoo and plenty
of awkward moments that
make you avert your eyes in
embarrassed mirth.
summer Sandler manages
to push out another comedy
that, in all likelihood, we will
enjoy. The same is true with
"Click." The basic story is as
follows; man can't control his
own life, man finds remote
that can control his universe,
wackiness ensues. Sure
there is more to the story,
but no one really cares. Oh,
and David Hasselhoff is his
boss. I got a kick out of that.
As the movie progresses,
Sandler's character discovers
that tampering with reality is
dangerous business and he
eventually begins skipping
through his life like skipping
scenes on a DVD. In the end,
he learns a big lesson about
how you should live your
life for your experiences. But,
again, no one really cares.
There are a few extremely
funny moments in this movie
and you won't come out of
the theater feeling as though
you have wasted your time,
but, this isn't a movie you
would want to see more than
once (Unlike "Snake on a
Plane!"). So if you skipped
over "Click" this summer,
you didn't really miss much.

AN
INCONVENIENT
TRUTH
We all remember A1
Gore, right? Tallish, really
dull voice, ran for president
back in 2000. Well, he's back
in his movie debut, "An
Inconvenient Truth." The
movie is basically an hour
and a half slide show as
portrayed by the base tones
of our would-be presidential
elect. Don't let that put you
off.
Beneath the grim exterior
is a truth that is really
inconvenient. Throughout the
film, Gore takes us through
fact, after fact, after fact about
the current problems that
surround global warming
and though you might be
thinking, "Why would I see
something like that?" I highly
suggest you think again.
Though Gore is probably
the dullest sounding person
on the face of the earth, he
manages to capture you with
witty comments, amusing
points and conversation that
keeps you engaged. If you
want an action thriller, see
"Snakes on a Plane," but if
you want a movie that will
change the way you see the
world, give "An Inconvenient
Truth" a chance.

Another summer, another
Adam Sandler movie. It's not
as though this is a complaint,
but it seems that every
Writer and director Kevin
Smith brought us one of the
funniest movies you could
possibly have seen this sum
mer in, "Clerks II." Begin
ning with the set of the first
Clerks movie burning down,
"Clerks II" finds our heroes,
Dante and Randel, working
at a fast food restaurant well
into their middle age. No
facet of our culture is safe
as Smith approaches every
subject with raw language
and brilliant humor. It
doesn't matter what religion
or nationality you belong
to, something in this movie
will probably offend you,
but leave you clutching your
sides and begging for more.
Smith delivers everything
people loved about the origi
nal Clerks, including a few
wonderful Jay and Silent Bob
moments, but manages to
keep it fresh with jabs at ev
erything in our pop culture.
