Holds Music Program May Day Manager
During his time at West Linn,
Chick Elliott, May Day manager,
has been very active in Student
Body affairs and one of the most
popular students around school
because of his good sportsman
ship. His freshman year he was
elected vied, president, earned his
letter, in track and played on the
freshman basketball squad.
When a sophomore he. was elect
ed president of the class, earned
his second award in track and
played freshman basketball and

some on the varsity squad. When

Miss Barbara White, the 22nd
May Day Queen at West Linn, is
five feet five inches tall, and has
honey blond hair. She was born
in Myrtle Creek on June 10th,
.1922 and has gone to Lake Grove
grade school for eight years and
high school at West Linn for
four years. Her ambition is to
go to a business school and be a
private secretary or to be a nurse.
Her hobby is collecting antique
perfume bottles and her favorite
flowers are red roses;
When asked what she thought
about May Day, being elected
queen arid all, Barbara replied:
“My court and I were more than
pleased to be selected, and as a
group to rule for May Da^, we
hope that everyone will have a
most enjoyable time. We ¡shall
put every effort forth in making
today a successful day.”

does, he is really going places.
To top things off for his senior
year, Chick was elected by the
Student Body to fulfill the task
of Miy Day manager. Chick is
very ^capable of handling this
job, and Will undoubtedly make
this one of the best May Days
West ¡Linn has ever had. Truly
during his fdur years at West
Linh, Chick has beeh one of the
most outstanding men of his
class.
May Day means to most every
one, flowers and other things of
beauty. Here at West Linn we
have charming princesses, who
have the beauty it takes to ex
press the idea of May Day.
Lois Young, the maid of honor,
was born in Wilsonville, Oregon.
Hér hobbies take in athletics of
all kinds. She favors dramatics
as a subject and band as an ac
tivity. She plans to attend Ore
gon State College next fall.
Nayda Geske, who was born
in Portland, Oregon, moved to
Gresham and. graduated fróm the
grade school there. Knick-knack
collecting and singing are her
hobbies. She enjoys; Glee Club
more than any other subject. She
enjoys her friends most at West
Linn. Northwestern Business Col
lege is her choice for next fall.
Georgia Chaudoin, who was
born in Greeley, Colorado, has
lived in Gladstone, Oregon the
past four years. She graduated
from . the McLoughlin Institute.
She enjoys swimming more than
any sport. She plans to work
after she graduates from West
Linn. ■
Lois Heater was born in Oregon
City, Oregon. Chemistry is her
favorite subject. After attending
the Oregon College of Education,
she plans to teach primary
grades.
Doris Zimmerman, who was
born in Stafford, Oregon, gradu
ated from the Willamette grade
school. .She favors being editor of
the Amplifier as ap activity and
swimmingJipbby. She plans
to be a secretary after finishing
at West Linn.’
Dolores Wilken was born in
Willamette,: Oregon. Her favorite
activity is being secretary of the
Girls’ League. Tennis and danc
ing are her hobbies. She plans to
be a secretary after attending

Convention at O.S.C. President of Girls

Future Farmers attended the an
nual F. F. A. convention on the
Oregon State College campus in
Corvallis, April 24-26.
Ralph Elligson, of West Linn,
took third place in the hog judg
ing contest held there. Robert
Dietrick entered the hog colling
contest for advisors.
The boys stayed at the Chi
Phi house for the duration of
their three day visit. Governor
Charles A. Sprague spoke to a
meeting pf the delegates.
The Girl’s League recently had
the election for the next year’s
officers., After thé election Mr.
Obbetaufer gave a talk on the
“Ideal Girl.”
The girls elected were presi
dent, Betty Helsby; vice presi
dent, Suzanne Zimmerman; se-
retary, Pat Erben; treasurer,
Louise Hellberg. ?
