THE AMPLIFIER Page Four Seniors Make Plans For Baccalaureate At a senior meeting held Wed nesday, plans for baccalaureate, the senior dance and senior play were discussed. Students who gave suggestions for ministers to speak at baccalaureate w e r e placed on a committee to meet with Mr. Gary and decide upon a speaker. The questions of march ing for graduation was brought up but owing to lack of time nothing was done. Mr. Fors, ad visor, announced that several meetings will be held in the near future. Member of Committee To Sponsor Show At the meeting of the Future Farmer instructors, which was held at Portland in March, Mr. Dietrick was elected a member for the State Executive Commit tee. This committee Will plan and take charge of all the acti vities of the state convention of Future Farmers which will be a three-day affair held on April 24, 25 and 26 at Corvallis, Oregon. All the boys from the West Linn Chapter will attend the state convention. The main pur pose of the convention is to fur ther the Smith Hughes Federal aid program with much business included as the election of of ficers for the coming year, selec tion of outstanding Future, Farm ers this year, and contests which will test thez skill of every FFA boy that participates. The West Linn FFA boys have been able to win almost every contest that they have entered this year and have received sev eral awards. On March 27 the agriculture boys journeyed to Mr. Dietricks’ home kt Jennings Lodge where they were given a demonstration of how to operate a tractor. . Meier and Frank Company will sponsor a style show to be held this afternoon in th« high school auditorium. Clothes for boys and girls will be modeled. Gradua tion outfits as well as sport clothes will be modeled. The show will begin at 2 p. m. The girls’ chorus will sing. Mr. Shearer said that we have always had representatives at the conference, Ed Woodworth being one of them last year. Pierce Knox, blind xylophonist, appeared at West Linn high school yesterday. His purpose is raising money to help employ blind persons in Oregon to trans cribe interesting books into Braille. Instead of having stu dents pay admission, they gave free will offerings, giving as much as they wanted.
