Hill Relays Tonight;
W. L. Teams Ready
Lions Nosed Out

The Lions traveled to Canby
last Friday only to be nosed out
by one run. The score was tied
one all up to the fourth with
Dave Williams doing the pitch
ing. There were two outs, man
on second and third, when Can
by’s hard hitter at bat hit a sin
gle, bringing in a man and end
ing the game 2 to 1.
The Lion nine won over the
Estacada team Tuesday, March
25, on the West Linn field. The
team looked fairly good for the
first game.
Eaden made two runs with
Woodworth, Hollenbeck and Jen
nings making one each. Williams
and Jennings did the pitching
with Hollenbeck catching.
The West Linn nine traveled to
Sherwood Tuesday for a game.
It was a good game all the > way
with West Linn leading up to
the seventh, 1 to 0.
Jennings pitched most of the
game, with Williams alternating,
but in the last inning the bases
were loaded when Coach Brown
changed pitchers and two runs
came in which lost' the game.
Herndon was the only man to
score for West Linn.
The annual Hill relays are set
for tonight at Hill Military acad
emy.
The West Linn relay teams are
all set to take part in the meet
tonight, after weeks of practice
and getting in shape.
Two teams, from W.L. will run
and they will be the sprint med
ley, the distance medley and
the quarter mile relay.

Driving Class Members
To Be Given Six Lessons
The members of the driving
classes, instructed by Mr. French,
are given six lessons which last
one hour each Tuesday.
After completing the class, the
students will be eligible to ap
pear for their junior license.
Those taking the class are: Wil

rey Gary, Ruth Grassman, Bar

to further instruct the« girls in
clothes and buying.
With Tigard
West Linn’s golf team met with
Tigard last Friday on the Tuala
tin course. Tigard overtook the
Lions to a very good score, which
is unknown to them. This was
the first match of the year.
It is reported that the golf
team is practicing more nbw, and
they hope to have better luck in
the future meets.
Ernie Butts made all the points
for the West Linn team. Those
who played were Pete Blyth, Bill
Stevens, Junior Roe, Ernie Butts,
John Grossman. Tom Arthur is
manager.
