Oral Expression
Classes Present
One-Act Plays
Members of the oral expression
classes have been presenting ohe
act plays as a part of their regu­
lar class work.
The students work in groups
of two and can have other stu­
dents help with the makeup, cos­
tumes and stage managing.
The plays are put on in the
manner of professional actors and
actresses, with costumes, make­
up, a.nd properties that fit the oc-
. casión. Students do their own dir­
ecting and select their own type
of costuming and furniture, and
make programs for the Other
members of the class.
Seven of these plays have been
■ given and the remainder of them
will be given after the senior
play,
VISIT STEAM PLANT
Station L, steam plant, Port-
land General Electric, was the
goal of the physics class field
trip, March 27. Objects of inter­
est observed were: installation
¡ of steam boilers, storing and us­
ing of sawdust, operation of
steam turbines and the testing
laboratories.

April 8.
Five movie reels, “Away With
the Wind,” a travelogue, a nov­
elty, an oddity, and a techni-
color cartoon, entitled the Mer­
ry Kitten” are to take up only
a fraction of the program, for
a “whiskereeno” and “ribbon-
eeno” contest will also be fea­
tured. Senior girls will wear
hair ribbons from April 2 ’till
April 8, the day of the senior
program.
