What Do You Suggest?
In a recent student poll taken
by an interested journalism stu
dent, gossip columns were voted
the best feature in the school
paper while the news stories and
advertising were given very little
credit. This should not be true
of course. All you students will
agree that the paper is edited
for the purpose of giving the full
details 9n news happenyigs go
ing on around school, not for the
purpose of recording school ro
mances or hurting someone’s
feelings.
While writing for the paper, we
have tried to give each depart
ment of the school circle public-
lty; we Hav& followed journalism
styles in4 writing the stories up,
and we have given you news
stories on all school events. The
paper only comes out every two
weeks and therefore, we can only
give you the news that happens
in between issues, which some
times old to some of you students
but usually not the the parents
and advertisers who read the
paper too, and they would also
like to know what happens at
West Linn.
Advertisements were also cri-
tized in the poll and they should
aleso be taken into consideration
because the advertisers make it
possible for us to have the paper.
They pay for the printing costs
when they take an ad.
These were just a few of the

Gossip
I wonder what happened to
the Baker and Taylor “Ro
mance?” I guess it must be Bob
—he kept singing “Georgia,
Georgia, I Got Georgia. On My
Mind.’’
Earl Merkle not quite making
a getaway from school the other
day. What was it that Mr. Gary
said, Merk?
The Hi-Y boys having a little
trouble with the apple machine.
They want it known that there
will' be no “Jack Pots.” Do not
“Shake Well” before using.
Mary McLean walking with a
Stiff leg. You see, ¿Mary is learn
ing to ski, but she said the snow
had turned to ice and she fell.
Of course everyone has their own
opinion.
«
Most of the seniors in the sen-
critisms that were brought out in
the poll, and none of them
proved logical.
What Do You Suggest Now?
Eds. Note: If you do have any
suggestions, turn them into Mr.
Howard. We will be glad to use
any of them if they can improve
the paper in any way.

ye jolly old feature ed home with
the measles. Sb—maybe we can

also home with the measles. Or is
he just waiting for the sensation
of his poll to blow over? By the
way, on those questionaires most
ye students said you liked thè
