Game With Woolen Mill
Closes Season for Girls
After the game the girls were
given a banquet.
Tuesday, March. 11, the girls’
basketball team journeyed to Mt.
Angel and came back with a victory
of 28 to 21. This is the first time
the local sextet has met the Mt.
Angel team.
Coach Baker began the game by
using the second team. However,
before the end of the first quarter,
the Mt. Angel girls had run up a
7 to 3 lead over the West Linners.
At this time the first string of
West Linn’s squad was put in. The
green and gold players began to
gain on the other team, until at the
end of the half the score stood 15 to
13 in favor of West Linn. The
local girls had no trouble holding
the lead during the remainder of
the game.
This game was the first that has
ever been lost by the Mt. Angel
girls that was played on their own
floor. Defeats on other courts is
probably partly due to the slick
floor on which they play.
Mr. Gary: What makes the legis
lature so glum these days, Mr.
Brown?
Mr. Brown: It has just discover
ed that it passed a law , that every
body can understand.
Mrs. Main—D’you know, I haven’t
spoken to my wife for five weeks.
Mr. Gary—Don’t worry old man,
your turn will come next.
