Christmas tree
permits available
It’s that time of year!
Christmas tree permits
for the Wallowa-Whitman
National Forests are now
available to purchase at
your local Forest Service
offi ce.
Permits are valid on Na-
tional Forest System lands
only, and do not authorize
tree cutting on private,
state, or other federally
managed lands.
Permits cost $5.00 each
and are limited to fi ve per
household. Tree permits
and forest maps are avail-
able during regular offi ce
hours, Monday through
Friday at any Forest Ser-
vice offi ce.
Again this year, all fourth
graders are eligible for a
free tree permit through
the national Every Kid in a
Park initiative.
In order for students to
receive a free tree permit,
they must present a valid
paper voucher printed
from the Every Kid in a
Park website. Just visit
www.everykidinapark.gov
and follow instructions to
obtain and print the paper
voucher.
Then, bring the paper
voucher with you to your
local Forest Service offi ce
to claim the free permit.
Students must be present
to pick up the free permit.
These free permits can
only be issued through
your Forest Service offi ce
and will not be available
through local vendors who
sell permits.

munity activities over
the years, including the
Festival of Trees, Miner’s

“We’ve been happy to be
a part of that. Our team
has really liked serving the
community, here in Baker
County (there are custom-
ers in the City, as well as
throughout the County,
including the outlying
areas). It’s been fun for
us to be able to help them,
and be a part of the com-
munity.”
Fogerson said, “Cus-
tomer accounts will not be
impacted, and our goal to
make banking as easy as
possible. We would like
to remind customers that
Wells Fargo offers many
convenient options...” For

He said it took a lot of
teamwork. The Candy
Corn Challenge was where
they used 100 toothpicks
The
and a cup of candy corn
and they needed to build
the tallest tower. Ashton
explained that his favorite
part of Friday Academy is
STEM.
3rd Aly Everett was the
fi nal presenter and she
discussed the Pumpkin
STEM Activities.
There were three stages
to the activity.
The fi rst was guessing
the width of the pumpkin,
how many seeds were
inside, and the weight.
The second part was
nail polish pumpkin art,
using three different polish
colors, poured the polish
into a water bucket and
dunked the pumpkins into
the water.
