Rep. Bentz, Sen. Wyden to hold town halls
Senator Ron Wyden
will hold four town halls
next week in Malheur,
Baker, Union and Wasco
counties.
Wyden’s town halls on
Oct. 12-13 will increase to
73 town halls he has held
so far in 2017, most this
year among members of
the U.S. Senate.
These four town halls
also will increase to 854
the number of town halls
Wyden will have held since
pledging when fi rst elected
to hold annual town halls
in each of Oregon’s 36
counties.
Next week’s town halls
in Malheur, Baker, Union
and Wasco counties will
be the senator’s second
this year in each of those
counties.
“The unprecedented
interest from Oregonians
attending my town halls so
far this year merits unprec-
edented access for them
to ask me questions and
educate me about how they
want Congress to fi x the
broken system of wildfi re
funding and many other is-
sues,” Wyden said. “I look
forward very much to con-
tinuing these conversations
at my town halls next week
in Malheur, Baker, Union
and Wasco counties.”

Rep. Cliff Bentz (R-
Ontario) will also hold
a series of town hall
meetings across District
60—his over the next three
months.
At each meeting, Rep.
Bentz will review: the
2017 Legislative Ses-
sion, House Bill 2017 (the
“Transportation Package”),
and will preview issues
such as water measurement
and fees, carbon cap and
trade, wildlife manage-
ment, DEQ rules regarding
cleaner air and storm water
discharge, tax reform,
PERS and other issues,
that are likely to be “on
the table” in the 2018 and
2019 Legislative Sessions.
“It is important to share
what has happened and is
likely to happen in Salem,
and these meetings also
provide an opportunity
for people to share their
concerns with me,” said
Rep. Bentz.
“Although I have already
met with and reported to
each of my fi ve County
Courts (Malheur, Baker,
Grant, Harney, and Lake
Counties) and several

Commerce, these meetings
have been held during the
middle of the day when
most ranchers and farmers
cannot attend. These next
six meetings are sched-
uled in the evenings and
in smaller towns so that
people who live far from
the county seats and work
during the day have a bet-
ter chance of being able to
attend.”
