Baker County hit hard with snowfall this winter
Submitted Photos.
Top left: Jake Brown submitted this photo of the Exhibit Hall at the fairgrounds
in Halfway. Heavy snow took it down this week, along with the roofs from
at least 16 other structures in the Pine Valley at the time Brown counted on
Wednesday afternoon.
Top right: Joelle Crowther submitted this photo in front of their house in Baker
City. Pictured back to front counterclockwise are Kayson, Mayci, and Belle
working in the tunnels.
Middle left: Keith Jones and Vivien McQuisten pose for Suzan Ellis Jones
during feeding. Jones has run the cat fi ve times this past week, clearing off two
and a half feet of snow.
Temperatures dropping
to -28F in the Bridgeport
area weren’t easy on
cattle.
Middle right: Dave
and Betty Huntsman’s
deathcicles a few miles
outside Baker City took
some creative knocking
down this week.
Bottom left: Union
County Emergency
Services took this photo
on Tuesday outside
Elgin, showing that the
neighboring county has
also been hit hard.
