Mathews, a chef at the Huntington Charter School, opened the fortune cookie at the end of a Chi- nese food meal. Her for- tune: "Lady Luck will visit you soon." She put the slip of paper in her pocket and the next thing she knew, she hit the highest Lucky Lines jackpot in the game's history. "I just started playing Lucky Lines too," she said. "I bought a couple of tickets the day before. It was crazy." Mathews, who also is part owner of Grady's Tavern, said she purchased the ticket there. After she scanned the ticket, she kept scanning it over and over to make sure she won $75,000. "I checked it online, I even called the Lottery offi ce and they confi rmed The Submitted Photo. Lillian Mathews. it was a winning ticket," she said. Mathews bought new furniture with her win- nings, but besides that, likes seeing the balance of her bank account after the win. "It's a nice feeling," she said. "It's going to be a good Christmas." Lucky Lines is a tic-tac- toe style game that has a daily drawing and includes a rolling jackpot, which starts at $10,000 and grows until someone wins! Mathews' jackpot was the second-highest Lucky Lines jackpot since the game went on sale in 2006. The largest Lucky Lines prize was $91,000 won in November 2012 by Geor- gie Lowell of Albany.
