Submitted Photo by Mary Miller.
The Public Arts Com-
mission installed its fi rst
Art On Loan piece in
Central Park on Thurs-
day, October 6. The in-
teractive steel sculpture
entitled “Go Ahead!” was
created by Don Herman
of Baker City (pictured
here), with metal materi-
als donated by Farm
and Industrial. The piece
invites participants to
turn a crank that causes
things to whirl and make
noise. The sculpture is
on loan to the city for
one year. It is for sale,
and inquiries about its
purchase can be made
at City Hall. Eight works
of art were installed
in City Hall that were
purchased by the Public
Arts Commission. Eight
paintings by eight local
artists were purchased
at eight galleries.
