Lance Simpson
Formerly of Halfway,
1970-2016
Lance James Simpson
age 46 of Elkridge, Utah
died on June 10, 2016 in a
tragic accident. A Memo-
rial Service ~ Celebration
of Lance’s Life will be
held at the Halfway Lions
Hall in Halfway Oregon
on Saturday, June 25, 2016
at 11:00 a.m. A potluck
reception will be held im-
mediately following at the
Halfway Lions Hall.
Lance was born in
Spokane, Washington
on February 25, 1970 to
Delores Simpson. He lived
in Spokane until the age of
10 when his mother moved
Lance and his sisters to
Las Vegas where he went
to school. When Lance was
16 he moved to Halfway
Oregon to live with his sis-
ter Meriann Digges and got
his GED. Lance went to
work at Wild Bills washing
dishes for Veryl Waldron
his aunt for a while and
did odd and end jobs for
people in Halfway.
When Lance became an
adult he asked his Uncle
Bill Waldron of Halfway
Oregon to get him a job
at the Toole Chemical
Agent Disposal Facility
Site. He worked various
positions at that location
for approximately nine
years. He then transferred
to Umatilla Chemical
Agent Disposal Facility in
Hermiston, Oregon, where
he worked for one year. At
that point he developed an
interest in power genera-
tion leading him to work
at the Hermiston Generat-
ing Station for the next
7 years. Continuing his
interest in power genera-
tion he accepted a position
with Puget Sound Energy
in Goldendale, Washington
where he worked for eight
years. Most recently, for
career advancement, Lance
accepted a position with
Pacifi corp at a power gen-
erating facility in Provo,
Utah.
He married Debra Burg
raff in 1990 in Halfway,
Oregon and had two sons
Shaine and Chase.
Lance remarried Sep-
tember 6, 2014 to the love
of his life, Jade. Together
they were very happy and
whenever
Lance wasn’t
working they
were off
doing new
adventures
together.
Lance was
Lance
never as
Simpson
happy as he
was with Jade. Lance loved
life, his sons and his fam-
ily. He was full of energy
and loved to make people
happy. He was always on
the go traveling, and sight-
seeing. There was always a
new adventure. Every day
was lived like there was no
tomorrow.
Lance always came to
Halfway, this is where he
said home was and this is
where he said he wanted to
be laid to rest.
He was preceded in
death by his wife Jade
Simpson, Mother Delores
Simpson, Grandparents,
Alfred and Blanche Grand-
lund.
