A wall of water came
down in the Burnt River
Canyon area on May 5
after widespread thun-
der and lightning storms
swept across northeast
Oregon. Reports were of
one logging camp hit up
Dark Canyon with no se-
rious damage or injuries.

the mud and debris,
which were cleared off
the next day. Without the
trees and other plant life
formerly up Dark Can-
yon prior to last year’s
devastating Cornet/
Windy Ridge Fire, ero-
sion and fl ashfl ood situ-
ations are expected to
be continued problems
in such areas.
