reduction project is located
within the Granite Creek
Watershed on the Umatilla
and Wallowa-Whitman
National Forests and is
located in Grant County,
Oregon.
“We are really looking
forward to engaging with
and listening to the Granite
community, introducing
the project, and discussing
project objectives, pro-
posed areas and treatment
tools,” said Ian Reid, North
Fork John Day District
Ranger. “Most importantly
the Ten Cent project is
about protecting the social
values at risk identifi ed in
the Grant County Com-
munity Wildfi re Protection
Plan (CWPP). It has been
a tragic year for Grant
County citizens who had
their lives disrupted by
local wildfi res and this
project aims to use proac-
tive treatments to reduce
future threats in this area,”
