state meet held at Springfield,
May 19-20. Setting district and
school records in the 100 meter

hurdle event in 15.3. I.inda

chances for victory at state have
been dimmed by the groin muscle

Making a 1-2-3 sweep of the

Charity Wood defeated Sandy
Herbert of Klamath Falls and
Melanie Monroe of Medford for
the javelin throw. Her winning
toss measured 118-3.
Ashland's inability to capture
points in the field events, enabled
Klamath to pull away in team
scores from the Grizzlies.
High jump produced three
state contenders, all of which
surpassed both the qualifying
standard of 4-10 and the five foot
barrier. Ganzini defeated Hoff
buhr for the title by clearing
5-3'x, another district record.
Miss Hoffbuhr, who had defeated
Ganzini the week before at the
same height, managed a 5-2 'j
while teammate Kathleen Mc

third place.

come up with two weeks ago at
the district golf match in Kla
