A relatively new piece of furn iture, the water-bed, uses a simple principle to bring this space-age sensation into the "Incredible Creeping Chair" The wterbed, b it is known today, was conceived by designer Charles Prior Heck about two years ago. Heck's first creation was the "Incredible Creeping Chair." It consisted of 300 pounds of liquid starch in a vinyl skin. When one sat in it, the chair would "creep" around the in dividual. The "Chair" did not sell too well. Heck contin ued to work with this basic idea experimenting with such materials as Jell-o. Developed by the slaves of Haiti about 2(10 years ago, voodoo is a conglomeration of African, West Indian and Roman Catholic religions. Spirits known as LOA play a key role in voodoo ceremony. This fact may not cause anyone to fall out of their seat today, but 70 years ago, everyone was excited about it. Proposals were made to turn Ashland into a health resort.
