After the princesses have been selected, the entire school will vote on the Christmas Queen. Whe will be crowned by Nong the night of the ball. Admission is $3.00 for couples and $1.50 stag. Stocks in AFS may be purchased at $.50 a share; however donations of larger amounts will be accepted. Also AFS Christmas cards are now on sale. Chess Club The Chess Team attended their first tournament November 13 in Grants Pass. Ashland came in second, beating Central Point and Med ford. After an orientation session and a demonstration of parliamentary procedure, the girls spent the rest of the day attending 45-minute sessions on various subjects. No further details are available. Letterman's Club No action. Key Club The Key Club Silent FUm Festival is continuing. Last week, a capacity crowd watched Abbot and Costello Meet Frankenstein and Frankenstein Meets the Wolfman. More "excitement; thrills and laughter" are due from the silent films, according to Key Club President Larry Taylor. Skateboard Club Members sponsored the dance that took place November 12. Wynn Wenker, escorted by Barb Peters was crowned king. President Marcia Wixey explained that the club would function as a sport only in the spring. Get A Jump On Christmas Shopping Mr. Kenneth Darling has launched a reading program for students who wish to improve their reading ability. The program is optional and is included as part of the English classes. Any student who wants to learn to read better may take a test to determine the area in which he needs the most improvement. Meets Individual Problems He then embarks upon a program designed for his particular problem. For example, a speed reading program might be used to help people improve their reading speed. One program that may be implemented involves a combination of teaching techniques.
