CANDIDATES FOR Mona Tucker, Julie Engle, MONA TUCKER I am running for the office of student body secretary. I enjoy being a member of student council and helping make decisions for the benefit of the school. I am experienced in student council, as 1 have been in student council before. 1 feel I am qualified because I will do my best and be responsible, if elected. V 1 I V r u y L Joy Evans, Janell Reed, Karri Debbie Phillips, and Georgia JULIE EIIGLE All too often, one finds that the distance between those in office and those not in office becomes so wide that very little is accomplished. The key to the success of student government is cooperation between the student council and the student and a mutual repsect for one another's opinions and ideas. I am willing to devote my time and effort to handle all correspodence and to give my support to Ashland Senior High School. To accomplish this with any degree of success, one must have certain qualifications, and I believe that I have the abilities to fulfill the obligations and responsibilities of the office of Student Body Secretary. VOTE SECRETARY DONNA HUTCHINSON Among other duties it is the job of the Student Body Secretary to handle all the correspondence of the Student Council, take minutes at the meetings and type up the Student Council Reports. I love to type and take Shorthand. I've taken 1 year of Shorthand and Bookkeeping and 2 years of typing. Because of this and my interest to serve Ashland High School I think 1 could represent our school well as Student Body Secretary. I would like to thank those who encouraged me to run for this office and all those who supported my by signing my petition. I am willing to devote my time and efforts to this job and to the betterment of A.H.S. Donna Hutchinson Candidate for Student Body Secretary )' i n FOR CHEERLEADERS WITH SPIRIT! CINDY RAGLAND Chase out apathy! We must become involved. I want to see the students involved, not only in the fall with football spirit, but all year. The clubs have all but died. The few social activities have met meager enthusiasm and attendence. The student council can do little with the people, but the student council must also initiate new and exciting ideas. We need a larger' variety of active-activities that involve everyone. If I become secretary, 1 not only want to perform its duties but make next year a year where school becomes a challenging idea, where we can pull our academic environment out of its apathetic lull.
