Do Their Thing
The Hope Corps club of
Ashland High School is doing it's
own thing!
In addition to holding dances
and helping the college Hope
Corps with their dances and
parties, Hope Corps members are
working directly with Mr.
Detwillers Special Education
class.
Hope Corps members are able
to get out of their study halls to
help these students with their
homework and in general just be
their friends.
Mr. Detwiller, advisor to the
Hope Corps feels that it is a very
active group. He believes that it
is "breaking down a lot of the
stigmas attached to the Special
Education classes."
Mr. Detwiller also says that
"both groups are becoming
aware, and once you become
aware there is no need to be
frightened, no basis for
predjudice."
The dance will be Friday,
February 27 in H-10, Mr.
Detwillers room. Colored lights,
amplifiers and a strobe light will
be featured.
