Discussion Slated
For Library Week
A panel discussion to be held
at the public library on April 17
will give students and parents
an opportunity to learn more
about the literature used in the
Ashland High School English
program.
Three high school students,
Jim Williams, Margaret Whil
lock, and Susan Beecher, and
Mrs. Hattie Converse, English
teacher, will participate in the
dents and adults. One way in
which the Council achieves this
goal is by representing the youth
of Jackson County at many
adult meetings.
The second purpose of the
group is to provide a variety of
youth activities for students of
the Rogue Valley. In this way,
students at Ashland High School
are given the chance to partici
pate in non-athletic activities
with students from other high
schools.
One project currently being
sponsored by the Youth Council
is a county-wide car rally on
Saturday, April 9.
Ashland High School's repre
sentatives on the council include
seniors Craig Korthase and
Chris Wiley and juniors Alan
Engstrom and Kathy Roberts.
Nomination of council candi
dates is made by current mem
bers with final selections made
by school administrations.
