Coach Richard Copple had a few comments after the game. "This being the kids' first game, they did pretty good. They also did better than the score shows. Rogue River was faster and taller than most of the squad which helped them win this game." "Dick Calhoun and Lonny Slack did an outstanding job offensively and defensively. John Mitchell and Tim Richards did a good job for the defensive squad," stated coach Copple. The Grizzlies were behind at half time 14-30, despite the efforts of Slack, Korthase, Calhoun, Mitchell, Richards, and Carter. In the second half, the Bears gained most of their points on foul shots. John Matteson sank 3 out of 4, Weaver sank 2, Carter 1, Richards 2, Mitchell 2, Calhoun 1, and Slack 1.
