The Grantorian in Portland
has a test on driving knowledge.
The questions are all necessary

good or bad driver, but some
questions are more important
than others; for example:

rounding a curve?
a Speed into it, relaxing grip
on the wheel
b Speed into it, applying
brakes through the curve
c Slow up on approach, then
pick up speed
d Speed up, then coast
through the curve
2 When a tire blows out, what
is the most advisable thing to
do?
a Apply the brakes quickly
b Apply the brakes gently,
if not at all
c Pull off the highway
d Speed up to counteract the
effect of a blowout
Spring is coming, and then
summer; and The Astor Post, in
Astoria, Oregon, notices the surf
fever is spreading in Astoria.
"Seasiders have easy access to
one of Oregon's only, and hottest,
surf spots, Indian Beach. So ell
you 'hot-doggers' grab your
'boards' and head for the 'heavies,
surfing is here to stay!"
