Buying Gifts
For the Guys
Picking the perfect present is
an art, and it entails craftiness.
Here's a technique or two to
help you in choosing the right
gift:
Give him a gift he wants, even
though ihe may not know what
he wants until he unwraps it.
Must of the gifts that end up
in the back of the closet, his
bureau drawer, or his medicine
chest were given by girls who
didn't know their man, and didn't
take the time to know him.

Gadgets that are beautifully

WATCHES - JEWELRY - GIFTS
Christmas 1964 will be my
first Christmas in a Christian
family, my American family. The
cold weather (maybe snow), the
stars twinkling in the dark sky,
Christmas songs, and the beliefs
of Jesus Christ and St. Nicholas
will give me the opportunity to
know a real Christmas.
In my country, besides Catholic
families celebrating on the night
of Dec. 24, some families cele
brate Christmas by organizing a
Christmas party. They invite
friends to come dance, eat, and
drink. Then they go to the church
at midnight and when they go
home they have "Revculon" (a
feast). The main streets around
the cathedral are very crowded
on that night.
In my family, my parents take
my little brothers and sisters to
the movies, and we, the older
children, can go to a party if we
have been invited. When all of
us are home, we start to have
our Reveillon."
We do not celebrate New
Years because we have our own
New Years. We follow the lunar
calendar so our New Years will
be in February. On the first day
if the New Year, we give gifts
to our parents and we wish them
prosperity, longevity, and hap
piness. Then they give each of
us a red envelope with a
China character printed on it. In
fciose envelopes they put money.
It is a tradition that grand
parents parents, relatives, and
our parents' friends give us
money. Money is the symbol of
luck in the New Year.
Sharon Schmelzer ... Go out.
Susan Presley ... Go to California.
Barbara Bushnell . . . Work on
my Christmas presents.
Barbara MoDaniel . . . Think.
Steve Frost ... Go to the show
with Barb.
Barbara Gunter ... Go to the
show with Steve.
Rod Wine . . . Spend the time
in prayer and reading my Bible.
Steve Rude . . . Cut school.
Fred Rapp . . .Drive my car.
This is how just' a few students
would use an extra hour. How
would you use it?
