Main S & H Green Stamps Grizzlies Fight Just As Hard Seldom, if ever, has the winning of a big game or the beating of a large school meant so much to other schools as it has to the Ashland High basketball team, to the student body, and to the home town folks. When the Bruins beat another team, it usually ends a long drought of losses to that parti cular team or to the past season's records. There are those who will pass the last season as just another unsuccessful losing sea son, but to Ashland High School it was more than just another season as the wins over Crater and Willamette means hope to win again. With a very inexperienced team like the Bruins, the big win or a real close game against the state's best means superiority over at Medford. The team, which is coached by Mr. t-arl iba, was started at Ashland last year. The two returning players from last year are Dian Murphy, the only girl in Lettermen's Club, and Jon Roberson. Other members of the team are Earl Iba, Don Mann, Scot Roberts, Toby Tobiason, and Scott Weaver. The team will play 18-hole matches and their scores are added together to get the team score. The school with the total lowest score will be the winner of the match while the individual with the lowest score will be named medalist. The Grizzly tennis team also had a heartbreaking day Saturday proves that the little team doesn't just get slaughtered but it fights for fame and to win the game just like the bigger teams. This season wasn't a failure but a chance to show up the oddsakers next year. No one can truthfully say that the Grizzlies were smothered throughout the season. If they do say so, Ash landers will show them who's boss within the next few years. as they lost every match in a one-sided meet to the Cavemen from Grants Pass.
