Truly a sharp car. Gene Plan-
kenhorn's '54 Ford has been made
even sharper with this recent
paint job. The color is a striking
swan white and contrast well with
the black rims and baby moon
hubcaps.
The interior is a soft black
and white tuck'n'roll with a
custom headliner and even power
windows. This nice little custom
is equipped with a sunliner see
through roof which provides a
stantling effect (especially at
night under a full moon eh,
Gene?
There is no gaudy chrome as
door handles and hood and trunk
ornaments have been removed
I and leaded in. Also, the headlights
overall smooth appearance. The
ager's father taking the bus to
work today. Huff puff, huff puff,
father or you will miss the bus.
Color him red.
This is a teen-ager's mother.
Color her hair gray because soon
it will be that color anyway. See
the smile on her face. See the
cup of coffe in her hand.
See the happy mother read the
newspaper in peace and drink the
coffee quietly. Everybody has left.
Color her grateful.

Movie Views
By John Purves
After seeing "55 Days at
Peking" I find I'm disillusioned
with American movie-makers.
As the lights in the theater
dimmed, and the blaring title
music began and ended, I settled
down to view the much-heralded
spectacle.
This film concerns the Boxer
Rebellion in China during the
summer of 1900. It also concerns
passion, blood, love, blood, hate,
blood, murder and a lot more
blood. In starring roles were
David Niven, Charlton Heston,
and Ava Gardner, all of which
gave adequate performances. An
Oriental girl. Sue Lyne Moon,
gave a believeable performance
as a half-breed child.
The film sufficed, although at
timei it seemed to drag; this was
due mainly to the many counter
plots and the bored attitude of
the actors.
If you like long, garishly color
ed, extravaganzas with huge casts,
see "55 Days at Peking" you'll
probably like it.
Wheee, beautiful girls in bath
ing suits, beautiful boys in bath-
suits. Let's all go to Palm
Springs, California, for Easter va
cation. According to Warner Brothers
Pictures, all California college stu
dents convehrge on Palm Springs,
reduce it to rubble, and send half
the adult population to the near
est eylym. Troy Donahue, Bob
Conrad, Connie Stevens, Stepha
nie Powers, and Jerry Van Dyke
starred in this farce depicting
modern young people.
Several humorous situations oc
curred such as the swimming
pool filled wiith laundry detergent,
and a bizarre invention called the
domance machine.
The plot was pretty weak; it
concerned a young girl searching
for adulthood. The girl (played
by Connie Stevens) faces many
difficulties during her weekend
in Palm Springs, but as all good
girls she returns home and
evidently lives happily ever after.
The picture was fast paced
so fast paced in fact that one
wasn't given the chance to con
centrate on individual perfor
mances. "Palm Spring Weekend
was fun to see if one didn't come
to the theater expecting to see
something arty or out of the
ordinary.
