Election Daze Over
Continued from page 1
aspirants give a short speech on
the merits of themselves.
Friday, April 26, was election
day. Each student body member
filed in to cast his vote. Carol
Bjork and Greig Lindley were
counting ballots.
Winners
That night the senior bad an
election dance. Signs and posters
decorated the walls. Perhaps the
only thing wrong was the ladder
left standing in the middle of the
floor. Even though huge posters
covered the sides, nothing could
hide the fact that it was a ladder.
Newly-elected yell leaders were
Suzanne Gwaltney, Pat Lorton,
Barbara Jones, Betty Schweibert,
Barbara Seibenlist, June Wasner,
and Queen Kay Newton. Trudee
Lewis won secretary and after a
close race, Dave Lohman won his
office. There was a run-off for
vice-president and president. The
finalists for vice-president were
Joe Rayncs and John Yaple. Con
nie Felger and Clyde Nelson were
finalists for president.
On Monday morning the run
off was held, and before lunch
everyone knew that Connie and
Joe were the winners.
Joe Raynes has been in Ash
land only four months, but his
popularity speaks for itself.
Connie Felger, one of Ashland's
rare girl presidents, has always
been active in school government.
