After Graduation What?
After gaduation what? Are you one who has
worked all through high school or have you had
things come easy? Maybe you just didn't try. But
after graduation, then what?
During the years in high school were you an
asset to the school? Did you help in school functions
or were you one of those that "drug his feet," or
"just didn't feel like it?"
This may be all fine and dandy while you
were in high school, but if you didn't work hard,
if you didn't participate, what is going to happen
after high school?
Will you be one of those many graduates who
drift from job to job because "the boss just didn't
like you," or "the work was too hard" or will you
be one who accepts his job as a challenge and
works toward a goal. Will you be a freshman drop
out at college because "the prof had it in for you"
or because "the card game down at the student
union was too much fun?"
If you choose marriage, will your young mar
riage become a statistic, go on the rocks because
"she didn't understand me," or "he expected too
much"? Mariage requires planning because, in spite
of the casual regard for marriage young people of
today seem to have, marriage is a serious business,
a life-time deal.
Regardless of what you do after graduation,
marriage, career, or college, put a goal that will
take a struggle to reach and will be worth reaching.
When you are out on your own, no one is going to
hold your hand or live your life for you, so now is
the time to make the decision to stand on your own
two feet and live a happy, useful life. S.O.

Television In Action
It was a bright, crisp day
when the tragic incident occurred.
We were driving through the
Wide Country, when we heard
a shot and saw Gun Smoke.
Like a streak of ligthening we
saw the Rifleman emerge from a
camoflague of brush.
I immediately put down my last
edition of David Brinkley's Jour
nal, which I had been reading
when I was so rudely interrup
ted. The first thought that came
to my mind was, "Car 54 where
are you?"
As we come closer to the scene
of the crime, which took place
on Route 66, just south of Naked
City, we discovered that the
Virginian had been shot in the I
'back. Noticing that he was still
alive, we rushed him to the
hospital, where he was left in
the good care of Ben Casey and
Doctor KUdare. i
We then called his lawyer,
Sam Benedict, who was staying
with The Jetsons, and informed
him of the shooting.
After reaching the hospital
and talking to the Virginian,
Mr. Benedict gave us the whole
story. He said that the Virginian
lived at 77 Sunset Strip with Joey
Bishop. They got along just fine
until the night of Friday the
13th. when they were watching
Twilight Zone, which was on at
the same time as Rawhide. He
said they began to quarrel about
which television show they would
watch. Suddenly, Joey jumped up
and shouted, "I'm the head of
this Empire, and besides. Father
Knows Best." So the Virginian
yelled back, "Last night during
the Eleventh Hour, you said I
could watch Rawhide, but I can't
prove it because I don't have any
Defenders."
They went outside and took
cover to lattle it out. As the
Virginian was running for cover,
Joey shot him in the back with
his rifle.
So now Mr. Benedict is on
his way to 87th Precinct to speak

Seniors To Visit
The Deans' Offices
Mr. Magnanimous, please send
Harlow to the dean's office right
away." This is a common request
thst echoes through the halls of
Ashland High these days. One
by one each senior makes his
way to the dean's office for an
evalution of his accomplishments,
potentials, and abilities. It is with
some trepidation and curiosity
that each senior answers that call.
The individual senior is given
thorough account of his scholastic
achievements, based upon his
grades, and the tests that he has
taken. The senior is also given
an evaluation of his social about
school which includes his con
duct, his manner, and his attitude
towards others.
The deans slso discuss with the
student his espsbilities and talents
in an attempt to help him choose
his life's work. Suggestions are
given for ways of achieving the
student's aim in life.
Advice Seniors, don't spproach
this conference with anxiety. Go
into it with the idea sf learning
all yon can.
