Previous to opening day during the registration period, approxi mately 504 students enrolled at AHS. At this time it was estimat ed that about 20 more .Uudents will enroll within the next two or three weeks. Out of the 504 students, 47 are new students at Ashland Senior High. The meeting is to be held Friday, September 22, in room 28. Mrs. Susee added that this meet ing will be held to acquaint stu dents with the functions of the club and the teaching profession. Debaters Prepare For Busy Season Boasting of four returning vet erans and eight new members, Mr. Lewis' debate team is making ready for their first tournament of the year, to be held in Marsh- field in November. Joan Drager, Judy Eberhart, Peggy Parsons, and Karen Schopf, after winning considerable hon ors last year, will once more par ticipate in debate. Carol Bjork, Jane Hcnnick, Charles Hillstad, Jim Lamb, Linda Leigh, Trudv Lewis. Craig Pennington, and Scott Roberts will begin their first year of debating. GREEN ANNOUNCES NEW LIBRARY BOOKS Mr. Giles Green, head of the Library Department, has stated that out of 400 books on display last April in the library, 200 have been purchased. Although these books are not available now, they will be very soon. The reason for the delay, Mr. Green explained, is because there are not enough bookshelves to hold all of the books.
