burger wrappers, paper cups, straws, and
gum wrappers.

door he hears a faint and familiar sound.

A.S.C.D. CONFERENCE ATTENDED
BY TEACHERS
Human beings may be compared to a
pot of yeast. They must be worked, push
ed, and formed into creative beings.
This was the main point Dr. Lorrene Ort
made in her speech, at the A.S.C.D. Con
ference, November 1, and November 2, h
held at the junior high school. This
conference was attended by Mrs. Lucy
Susee, and Mrs. ,Sema McAlaster.
Tne Oregon organization is five
years old and is a part of the much ol
der national organization. A.S.C.D.
stands for the Association of Supervis
ion and Curriculum Development.
In her speech, that inspired many
of the teachers, Dr. Ort went on to say
that creativity is an analysis of self
and pursuit of insight. Creative teach
ers seek solutions to riddles or problems.
Tney do not attemot to place the culture
of a race in a pickling brine. Teach-'
ing takes all of the teacher, not just
a part.
