Seniors Honored For Work in Drama Seniors who have been espe cially outstanding in dramatics in the two plays during the past year have been announced by Mrs. Lucy Susee, director. These seniors are the follow ing: Bob Hegdahl, Susie Folks, Ruth Moncton, and Tom Lind say, for acting in both plays; Jim Schweizer, for acting in the Senior Play and student di rector of the Spring Play; and Sylvia Brostad, for her work as president of Thespians and acting in the Spring Play. Nancy Johnston, for her work on props and programs; Linda Hill, for her work on make-up; Carolyn Holmes, fcr her work on business and stage crew; Judy Morris, for her work on stage crew, Billee Kay Meams, for her work on busi ness and programs; and Kent Chamberlain, for his work on publicity. Watch Contest Now in Progress Once again the annual watch contest sponsored by Henry Carr's Jewelry Store is now in full swing. Senior boys and girls have signed up for their chance at a Bulova watch. Their names are placed on a clock in the window of the jewelry store. The girls names are in the mid dle of the clock and the boys names are on the outside. Ono day next week the clock will run down and eventually stop, picking the lucky wieners of the new watches. The watches will be presented to the stu dents at the next awards as sembly. Donna Mills and C'int in Moore were last year"s win ners. HONOR SOCIETY ELECTS OFFICERS New officers for the Honor Society were elected Tuesday, May 9, by the old and new Honor Society members Ken Stevenson received the honor of being elected to the office of president. Sue Thomp son was elected as vice-president; Peggy Parsons, secretary; and Joy Hinkson, treasurer. The transference on the du ties of officers will be effective immediately. GRAVEYARD REVISITED While at Emigrant Lake, a thrilling place to visit is the ancient graveyard located on the western shore. The surrounding land was given by Isaac and Elinore Hill for a free burial ground during the Indian war of 1853. Marilyn Hill Gillette fell heir to part of the grounds in 1864 and reserved two acres for the graveyard. Today, the grave yard covers half an acre, and has been fenced and improved. ine ciaest recorded person buried in the graveyard was born in 1831 and died in 1398. The most recent grave was dug in 1960. Two graves are un known. Some are: interesting epitaphs "Death, thou are but another birth, Freeing the spirits from the clogs of earth." "Weep not for your babe who dieth, For he sleeps and is at rest; The couch whereon he lieth Is the green earth's quiet breast." "Where immortal spirits reign, There shall we met again."
