PAGE FOUR ROGUE NEWS FRI.. OCT. 16, 1953 Jayvees Subdue Crater Comets Ashland JV's outcharged the Crater Comets, Oct. 6 at a night game. Ashland scored in the first three quarters with a score of 20-O. Jim Doster on a quarterback sneak went into the end zone for the first tally. Although Doster fumbled, Fred Neu mann recovered his fumble to cinch the counter. In the last quarter Doster went from the three yard line to score a tally. Mike Reymers passed to King to make good the conversion. Bill Stults broke through the middle from the thirty yard marker and went over for the final counter. Bob Snyder ran the ball over for the point-after touchdown. Defensively Larry Athanas in the line and Doster. Stults, and Nason in the backfield, helped hold the Central Point team scoreless. GRIZZLY FROSH TROMPED BY DETERMINED GP TEAM Although Mike Andrews, Ashland back, scored two touchdowns for the frosh, it was not enough as the North Grants Pass freshman team raked a loose Ashland defense for four touchdowns in drop ping the Grizzly Cubs 27-13 in a home game October 9. Andrews scored the first touchdown on a 95 yard run and then took a pass good for 25 yards and a touchdown. The next three games of the frosh line-up are all home games.
