PAGE TWO ROGUE NEWS FRI.. SEPT. 25. 1959 Seniors at Last! Here we are, seniors at last! For this moment we have been waiting since we embarked in school 11 years ago. Did I say waiting? We have not been wait ing; we have been striving for this moment. Now that we have reached this year, how are we going to use it? Will we make the most of it as a pre paration for college and the future, or will we forget that it is our very last chance to make a success of our high school careers? Many of us have failed to realize the importance of our high school career as a preparation for life's work. Have you developed qualities which will be an asset later in life? It is well to remember that our high school re cord will follow us. Today it is not just the high school diploma that counts, but our entire high school record. It is not too late to start developing habits of dependability, promptness, neatness, cour tesy, and industry. Nothing can now be done about the high school years which are already gone, but we have this one remaining year to make our high school career a success. Let these words of Abraham Lincoln guide you: "Yesterday is gone, forget it; Tomorrow is coming, don't worry; Today is here, use it." J. S. Take an active part in the Put Your Best Self Forward Throughout the past years at Ashland High, most of the students have worn suitablo school clothes and are to be complimented on their good taste. Although discussions, rules, and action concern ing Dress Codes have been very limited at AHS, it is time that we, the students, took notice of the "name" we are reflecting upon our school. Clean, well-pressed, neat, correct fitting clothes are in order. This year we hope that all students will strive to present their best "self." Live up to the good repu tation of Ashland High and present a well-groomed and suitably-dressed student body. A. P.
